These Small Scale Industries (SSI) are the mainstay for growth in many developed, and developing economies, of the world. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legalraasta.com\/blog\/importance-small-businesses-india\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Importance of small businesses for India<\/a> is immense. It is considered a prominent player as it requires less investment and creates employment opportunities, thus, reducing unemployment\/underemployment. In India, itself, MSME has employed more than 50 million people. So the Government, Central or State, to attract more people into it and to balance the wealth distribution better, provides MSME various subsidies and schemes. And <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legalraasta.com\/msme-registration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MSME Registration<\/a> is essential for you to reap these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legalraasta.com\/msme-benefits\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MSME Benefits.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Since 2015, the official name of MSME\/SSI Certificate, for already running units, has been changed to\u00a0<strong>Udyog Aadhar.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3 class=\"em_text\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"_Types_of_MSMESSI\"><\/span>\u00a0Types of MSME\/SSI<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p class=\"entry-title fusion-post-title\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.legalraasta.com\/msme-registration-in-india\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MSME Registration in India<\/a>, come\u00a0under two categories on the basis of Investment in Equipment. These are further\u00a0explained below:<\/p>\n<p class=\"em_text\"><strong>1. MSME (Manufacturing)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"em_text\">Those Enterprises engaged in <strong>manufacture or production<\/strong>, processing or preservation of goods as specified here,<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Type A:<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Micro<\/strong> Enterprise whose investment in plant and machinery <strong>does not exceed Rs. 25 lakh<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Type B:<\/strong> <strong>Small\u00a0<\/strong>Enterprise is the one where the investment in plant and machinery is <strong>between Rs. 25 lakh and Rs. 5 crore<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Type C:\u00a0Medium<\/strong>\u00a0Enterprise where the investment in plant and machinery is <strong>over Rs. 5 crore but does not exceed Rs. 10 crore.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Here, the investment in plant and machinery means the original cost. It doesn&#8217;t include land and building or the items as specified by the Ministry of Small Scale Industries.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. MSME (Services)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0Enterprises\u00a0\u00a0<strong>providing services<\/strong> and whose investment in equipment (original cost excluding land, building, furniture, fittings, and other items not directly related to the services rendered or as may be notified under the MSMED Act, are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Type D:\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Micro\u00a0<\/strong>Enterprise with the investment in equipment<strong> below Rs. 10 lakh<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li><strong>Type E:\u00a0Small<\/strong> Enterprise is where the investment in equipment ranges between <strong>Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 2 crore;<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>Type F:\u00a0Medium\u00a0<\/strong>Enterprise is the one whose investment in equipment is over <strong>Rs. 2 crore but does not exceed Rs. 5 crore<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Those firms\/shops\/LLPs\/public\/private limited companies, corresponding to the above criteria, are also eligible to avail the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legalraasta.com\/blog\/government-subsidies-msme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Government subsidies to MSME<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: left;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Options_of_MSMESSI_Registrations\"><\/span>Options of MSME\/SSI Registrations<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n<p><strong>1) Provisional MSME Registration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Enterprises who have already commenced their production but are yet to complete 1 year can apply for <strong>Provisional Registration Certificate<\/strong>\u00a0under Single Point Registration Scheme (SPRS) of NSIC. The minimum amount invested has to be <strong>more than Rs. 5 Lacs<\/strong>, excluding the registration fee &amp; procuring documents.<\/p>\n<p>This Provisional Certificate is provided for a period of 5 years.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2) Permanent MSME Registration<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Alternately, you can apply for a Permanent Registration Certificate (PRC), for your business.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Conditions for obtaining Permanent Registration Certificate (PRC):<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>You need an <strong>industrial license<\/strong> unless your business is listed in Schedule-III of the Industrial Licensing Exemption Notification.<\/li>\n<li>You must have taken all <strong>clearances<\/strong> from the pollution control board, drug control board etc.<\/li>\n<li>It must not be in <strong>violation of any locational restriction<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>The <strong>Original Value of the Plant &amp; Machinery<\/strong> has to be within the prescribed limits type of MSME\/SSI your business is. The prescribed limit has been specified above.<\/li>\n<li>Your unit must not be a subsidiary, owned or controlled by another industrial undertaking.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Online_Registration_Process\"><\/span>Online Registration Process<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>To get your organization registered, you are to fill the single form available on the government portal.<\/li>\n<li>If a person wants to do registration for more than one industry then also he\/she can do individual registration.<\/li>\n<li>The documents required for the registration have been listed above.<\/li>\n<li>All the documents are to be self-attested.<\/li>\n<li>No registration fees required.<\/li>\n<li>You would receive the registration number, once you have filled in the details and uploaded the required documents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"What_all_do_you_need_to_get_MSME_Registration\"><\/span>What all do you need to get MSME Registration<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>To acquire the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legalraasta.com\/msme-registration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">MSME Certificate<\/a> or Udyog Aadhar for your business entity, you would need to submit below\u00a0<strong>self-certified<\/strong> documents,\u00a0<strong>Online or Offline<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Application Form for MSME Registration or UAM (earlier Form 1),\u00a0<\/strong>you can download from the website of the State or Union Territories. These have some difference, so fill the one where your business is located.<\/li>\n<li>Personal\u00a0Aadhar number,\u00a0Address and other common details<\/li>\n<li>Three passport-sized photographs of owners\/partners\/directors, as the case may be.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Business Address Proof:\u00a0<\/strong>Rent Receipt &amp; NOC from the landlord and any document supporting the landlord&#8217;s ownership is required if the premise is<strong> rented<\/strong>. If the site is <strong>self-owned<\/strong>, then property papers such as Allotment letter, Possession letter, property tax receipt or license issued by the relevant municipal corporation is required.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Industry License\u00a0<\/strong>from the Govt. of India, if the end product comes under the Industrial Development and Regulation Act.1951.<\/li>\n<li>Business <strong>Bank account<\/strong> details<\/li>\n<li><strong>Main Business Activity, <\/strong>what product and process are your MSME going to take-up.<\/li>\n<li><strong>National Industrial Classification<\/strong> (NIC) code based on business activity.<\/li>\n<li>Number of <strong>Employees.\u00a0<\/strong>Projections for manpower. Also, the planning of which post will be filled first. For example, engineer &amp; skilled labour must be present before machinery is installed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>The arrangement of Finance:<\/strong>\u00a0All business need monetary support. A projection of finance that will be required by the business. Classified into Long-term or Short-term, Seed Capital, etc.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sale Bill<\/strong>\u00a0of the end product applied for.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Purchase Bill\u00a0<\/strong>of the Raw materials purchased.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Purchase Bill<\/strong> for machinery installed.<\/li>\n<li>In case of Partnership firm, a Photocopy of the <strong>partnership deed<\/strong>. Its registration under the Partnership Act is not mandatory.<\/li>\n<li>In case of a company, the<strong> certificate of incorporation<\/strong> and the<strong> Resolution<\/strong> passed authorizing the\u00a0Directors to sign the application form or appear for the interview<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.legalraasta.com\/memorandum-of-association-moa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Memorandum of Association (MOA)<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.legalraasta.com\/article-of-association\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Article of Association<\/a> (AOA).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Proof of Investment<\/strong> in Machinery &amp; Equipment.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"background-color: #f6d5d9;\">NOC<\/span> from <strong>pollution contro<\/strong>l committee of that state.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Copies of all the documents listed above have to be accompanied with an affidavit of Rs.10\/- Non-judicial Stamp Paper it has to have details about the unit, machinery installed etc, in a prescribed format.
