Types of Certification Schemes
1. Safety Certification Scheme (S Mark)
The Product Safety Certification Scheme, or S Mark Certification, is a third-party
certification programme created for the electronic industry to provide confidence levels through
system assessment, product testing, and surveillance. It is granted by the International
Electro-Technical Commission (IEC) and falls under the Product Certification Scheme Category. By
offering recognition to promote export, raises the product's level of quality and safety. Obtaining
international safety standards like VDE, UL, and others that provide one an advantage over rivals in
the home or foreign market is quite challenging.
2. IECEE- CB Certification
A multilateral certification system that is a component of the Product Safety
Certification Scheme, the International Electrotechnical Commission (Standard) for Electrical
Equipment Certification (IECEE Certification) ensures conformity testing and certification of the
electro-technical equipment and component. It is managed under the CB Certification Scheme.
It assists in giving member countries national testing marks without the need for additional or
limited testing, and through reciprocal recognition, it aids in enhancing export capacity.Without
the need for further testing that would provide the product a competitive edge in the home or
international markets, it ensures that the product will be accepted by all Member countries.
3. Smart Card Testing and Certification
The National Informatics Centres (NIC) and the Ministry of Transportation jointly
introduced the Smart Card Testing and Certification as a Comprehensive Scheme. It falls under the
Management System, Product Certification (Information Technology & E-Governance) Category and is
used for electronic driving licenses, passports, and other products. It is also beneficial for the
introduction of smart cards with software applications.
4. Biometric Device Certification
This category consists of Biometric Devices Testing and Certification, which provides
quality-assured authentication and enrolment devices such as QR Code scanners. It also provides
safe, dependable, and secure devices as well as a device that has met the UIDAI standards that
guarantees secure transactions that are safe and are mandated to be approved in accordance which
offers suitable resources and mechanisms to facilitate device usage and implementation.
5. ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) Certification
91 National Standard Bodies worldwide participate in the Quality Management System
Certification Scheme for the development of global standards in relation to the growth of the
business of importing and exporting goods and services on a global scale, as well as being
registered with STQC.
6. Information Security Management System (ISMS) Certification
The National Accreditation Board for Certification Bodies, the Quality Council of India,
introduced the Management System, Product Certification Category, which includes the Information
Security Management System Certification (ISMS Certification), for the purpose of certifying a
particular organization type, which may be for the Industrial Sector, the Commercial Sector, or the
Public Sector.
7. Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) Certification
The Information Technology Service Management Certification (ITSM Certification) also
falls under the Management System, Product Certification Category for providing Services of
Planning, Delivering, Providing Customer Support, Security, and ICT Infrastructure as per the
assurance that the requirements are met for Quality Customer Service. It is used for business
manager projections that are in line with the goals and objectives of information technology (IT)
management in order to achieve business and customer requirements.
8. Website Quality Certification
To establish National and International Standards with the GIGW and the organization's
requirements, the Website Quality Certification falls under the Management System, Product
Certification Category, and a Certified Quality Website Mark (CWQ Mark) is issued. Additionally, it
aids in enhancing website quality and ensures that the data presented here is accurate.
