Then click on “Member passbook”

How to register for e-passbook?

First, you have to activate your UAN. This can be done by going to the website: https://unifiedportal.epfindia.gov.in. As soon as it is authenticated, it will be possible to download the e-passbook after 3 working days. All you need to click over “Download e-passbook” by logging in to the member portal. For login, you have to enter your UAN number and password.

How to Check Your Account Balance?

There are several modes of checking account balance:

  • SMS

Here is the number 7738299899 at which you can send SMS to check your balance of EPF. You need to follow the format for sending a message which is EPFOHO UAN ENG where ENG is the three characters of the language you prefer. There are following languages out of which you can choose anyone:

  1. English
  2. Hindi
  3. Telugu
  4. Punjabi
  5. Gujarati
  6. Marathi
  7. Malayalam
  8. Tamil
  9. Kannada
  10. Bengali

Send a message from the registered mobile number. This also may happen that you may not receive any message in case your employer-provided your Aadhaar, PAN and bank account and that was digitally approved. Hence, in this case, you must contact your employer immediately.

On contrary, when your message is successfully accepted, an SMS is received from EPFO which states the KYC document details, the contribution made along with the current balance in the account.

  • Missed call

This is another way of checking your balance. But the account holder must ensure that the KYC details have been linked and integrated with the UAN. When your KYC details have been successfully linked you may give a missed call at 011-22901406 from your registered number. Then you will receive an SMS regarding the account balance.

  • UMANG App

It has access to the EPFO account. For checking your balance through an App you must follow the steps stated below:

  • Download the app from the given link at the top of the article on your phone.
  • Choose the EPFO option on the app.
  • Select on ‘Employee Centric Service’ option.
  • Enter your UAN.
  • You will receive an OTP number on the registered mobile number.
  • Now, enter the OTP received.
  • Give a click on ‘view passbook’ under the EPFO option.
